FX hiring begins anew; demand for lenders outpacing supply

In the latest hiring roundup, a new U.S. bond fund needs a dozen staffers, FX hiring is back in vogue and a Canadian firm eyes London expansion.

Citizens ramping up consumer hiring 

Citizens Financial Group plans to hire 550 people within its consumer unit. The headcount additions will be spread across the U.S. firm’s mortgage, small-business and auto-finance units.

Senior FX staffers needed again

Banks like Citi and Bank of America are (very) slowly building back up their senior foreign exchange staff following the FX trading probe that saw more than 30 traders suspended or fired.

Lending back in vogue

With the refinancing boom a thing of the past, banks are looking to hire loan officers to drum up new business. Currently, demand is outpacing supply, leading banks like Wells Fargo to sweeten the pot for current staffers to keep them from jumping ship. Commercial lending is equally as hot.
